Children & Families
A child’s life is shaped by the places they live and the people in their lives. As they grow, children naturally learn from those around them and benefit from the stability of a safe, nurturing home. Unfortunately, some children do not have the strong foundation they need at home to learn, grow, and become a responsible, caring adult.
Supporting Youth in Our Communities
At New Jersey MENTOR, we believe that “it takes a village to raise a child”. We offer a range of home- and community-based services to help youth of all ages and their families lead healthy, stable lives.
Our residential programs are tailored to fit the needs of each young person who calls them home—from youth facing emotional and behavioral challenges because of difficult pasts to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking greater independence. We also provide intensive therapy services to help children, adolescents and teens continue to be successful at home with their families.
Our services for children and their families include:
- Therapeutic Foster Care through our network of dedicated Foster Parents we call Mentors
- Specialty Group Homes that offer structure and guidance in the community
- Periodic Therapy Services a specialized program to help court-involved youth get back on track
- Second Chance, a specialized program for at-risk youth and those involved with the juvenile justice system.
Changing Lives Since 1990
For more than 20 years, New Jersey MENTOR has helped thousands of children and adolescents throughout the state achieve permanency and stability in their lives. In all of our programs, we create a network of support around each young person to help them build a better foundation and brighter future.
